The National Football Conference (NFC) champion Dallas Cowboys (16-3) defeated the American Football Conference (AFC) champion Buffalo Bills (14-6), 52–17 (a then-record 69 combined points). The Cowboys won their third Super Bowl in team history, and their first one in fifteen years. The Bills became the first team to lose three consecutive Super Bowls, and just the second team to play in three straight (the Miami Dolphins played in Super Bowls VI-VIII, winning VII and VIII).

Super Bowl XXXV was played on January 28, 2001 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion following the 2000 regular season. The American Football Conference (AFC) champion Baltimore Ravens (16–4) defeated the National Football Conference (NFC) champion New York Giants (14–5), 34–7. The Ravens became the third wild card team to win the Super Bowl and the second in four years. Also, the city of Baltimore had its first Super Bowl title in 30 years.

The American Football Conference (AFC) champion New England Patriots (14–5) win their first Super Bowl by defeating the National Football Conference (NFC) champion St. Louis Rams (16–3), 20–17, as kicker Adam Vinatieri made a game-winning 48-yard field goal as time expired. The Rams had been 14-point favorites to win the game, making the Patriots’ victory one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history.

    Christina Aguilera singing the national anthem botched the lyrics, The Black Eyed Peas performed halftime badly and some of the worst TV commercials. At least the Packers and Steelers put on a terrific show.
46. XLVI – MadonnaThe 46th Super Bowl was played on February 5, 2012 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. In a halftime set that included Roman gladiators, Gregorian monks, 70,000 flashlights, a marching band and one very bad bird, Madonna delivered the goods as the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show performer. The massive stage took about seven minutes to build, and the outrageously limber 53-year-old pop star performed four songs in a 15-minute set. Her show included the 1990 hit “Vogue,” 2000′s “Music” (with LMFAO) and 1987′s “Like A Prayer” (with Cee-Lo Green as the guest star).

    But it was The Obligatory New Song Nobody Knows (“Give Me All Your Luvin’ “) that might have brought some trouble. Hip-hop star M.I.A. randomly flipped off the audience at the end of her guest verse, an act that inevitably will lead to debate about whether it was premeditated or done on the spot. The performance consisted of 500 outfits including head to toe looks for surprise guests LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. and Cee Lo Green as well as costumes for 100 drum line performers, 150 gladiators and 200 choir singers.
