The G250 boasts the longest range at fastest cruise speed in the super mid-size business jet category. A new high speed wing and Honeywell HTF7250G engines provide the platform for this superb performance. With the most spacious cabin in its class, the G250 cabin can provide seating for up to ten passengers in two seating areas. The large galley and in-flight access to baggage provides the best accommodations for passengers. The 100 percent fresh air, low cabin altitude, quiet cabin and large windows reduce fatigue and promote a comfortable cabin environment.
The G250 introduces the PlaneView250™ cockpit which brings the PlaneView® philosophy from the G350® to the G650® into the super mid-size market. This advanced flight deck improves safety through reduced pilot workload and improved situational awareness. Safety during low visibility operations can be further improved with the optional HUD II heads-up guidance systems, Enhanced Vision Systems (EVS II) and Synthetic Vision (SV-PDF) system. The introduction of auto-braking is an industry-first in this market, to enhance safety, improve passenger comfort and reduce brake wear.

Fuselage Sections Joined
Gulfstream on February 27, 2009 recently celebrated the fuselage joining for the first Gulfstream G250, the company’s newest mid-cabin jet.
The G250 forward, center and aft fuselage sections were joined utilizing the most advanced assembly process, which has proven to reduce the time needed to complete the fuselage. The improvement is the result of the G250’s cutting-edge design, which uses the most advanced engineering and design tools.
“The fuselage joining is a tremendous step forward for the G250,” said Pres Henne, senior vice president, Programs, Engineering and Test, Gulfstream. “The mechanics have been very pleased with the precision of the assembly process. Everything went smoothly with the fuselage joining, and now we look forward to the next major milestone — the aircraft’s first flight.”
The G250 offers the largest cabin and the longest range at the fastest speed in the industry’s mid-size class. The aircraft is capable of traveling 3,400 nautical miles at 0.80 Mach and has a maximum operating speed of 0.85 Mach. With an initial cruise altitude of 41,000 feet, the G250 can climb to a maximum altitude of 45,000 feet, where it can avoid congestion and adverse weather.
The G250 is powered by twin Honeywell HTF7250G engines, each providing 7,445 pounds of thrust. The engines and nacelle package for the first flight test aircraft have already been delivered.
Gulfstream projects the G250 to be certified in 2011 and expects to begin deliveries of the aircraft the same year. The first flight of the aircraft is scheduled for the second half of this year.
Initial-phase manufacturing for the G250 takes place at Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) headquarters near the Ben Gurion International Airport just outside of Tel Aviv, Israel. Gulfstream maintains an office at IAI to oversee production.

Final-phase manufacturing for the G250 will take place at the Gulfstream “Center of Excellence” completion facility for mid-cabin aircraft in Dallas. The G250 Program office is located in Savannah.

From maximum takeoff weight, the G250 can climb directly to 41,000 feet within 20 minutes and has a maximum cruise altitude of 45,000 feet to fly above adverse weather and airline traffic. With an impressive high cruise speed of Mach 0.82 the G250 is able to transport four passengers and a crew of two from New York to London, Dubai to Geneva or Singapore to Tokyo.

G250 Technology
The G250™ includes the most advanced flight deck in its class, the PlaneView250™ which is based on Rockwell Collins ProLine Fusion avionics. Its integrated design of highly interactive controls and interfaces such as the Gulfstream Cursor Control Devices (CCD) reduces pilot workload. Pilot situational awareness and safety is improved through advanced graphics, moving map displays and synoptic pages for each system. Included as standard features with the PlaneView250 are a dual auto-throttle system, Jeppesen charts and Universal worldwide graphical weather.
Situational awareness can be greatly increased with Gulfstream’s options such as heads-up display (HUD II), Enhanced Vision System (EVS II) and Synthetic Vision (SV-PFD). The EVS II and HUD II work together to display an infrared image of the outside world on an LCD screen allowing the pilot to see during low visibility conditions. SV-PDF is a synthesized image of the outside world and its surrounding terrain, runway environment and obstacles on the primary flight display to improve situational awareness even in zero visibility conditions. These Gulfstream options create a safer environment in any weather conditions.
The G250 uses a brake-by-wire system that introduces the first in its class auto-braking. The auto-braking features improves the safety during landing and rejected take-off situations with a faster reaction time and maximum brake pressure. During normal landings into longer fields, the auto-braking feature will improve passenger comfort and reduce brake wear.
G250 Interiors
The G250™ boasts the largest cabin in the super mid-sized class. With a stand-up height of over 6 feet and a cabin length of nearly 26 feet, the G250 has the most cabin volume and over 17 percent more floor area than the competition. In-flight access to the baggage compartment, along with numerous closets and cabinets within the cabin allows for 154 cubic feet of useable storage. An abundance of natural light is provided through19 large windows. Quiet cabin sound levels, a low 6,000 feet cabin altitude at 41,000 feet and 100 percent fresh air reduces fatigue and creates a comfortable environment to work or rest.
Three select floor plans, the Executive, Universal, and Hallmark, provide seating for eight, nine or ten passengers respectively. The large forward galley is comprehensively equipped and has a large counter space with a slide out sink cover for more working area. The aft lavatory is the largest in its class with excellent storage areas in the vanity as well as a floor to ceiling closet. The G250 is the first aircraft in its class to have a vacuum lavatory which uses less water and reduces odors.
The G250 includes Cabin Essential™ design to improve the reliability of the cabin components. Gulfstream’s Cabin Essential design philosophy ensures that the cabin systems are as redundant as the aircraft systems so that no single-point failure will result in a loss of functionality.
